Has kept a couple of EFMs busy all day reiterating the need for the construction process to FOLLOW a clearly laid out planning process. Life lessons for a tradie right there people.
All things being equal, my schematic reading skills have developed some more today.
I’ve recently sold my Sako 75 .308 a couple of months ago. I’m looking to upgrade to a 85 chambered in .300 WinMag. This will help on my planned trip to N.Z in the future. I’m leaning towards a nice timber stock and a heavy barrel but this could weigh a little on the heavy side compared to the synthetics. Something to keep in mind as the country over there can be somewhat more vertical than Australia.
I’m out at work and using the iPad to write. It ain’t all bad but jeez it can be painful. A shitty Internet connection doesn’t help either.
We’re currently enduring a federal election here in Australia at the moment. I can’t say I’m uninterested in how it’ll all turn out.
Usually I dodge the voting thing here as I figure I’m gonna end up paying for it regardless of the outcome but this time I threw my ten cents worth in the box. Saves me the fines the AEC sends you when you don’t I suppose.
I had to have a bit of a laugh at some of the registered parties on the ballot paper though. One does wonder how single issue groups get the idea that their concerns are greater than the main issues the make up the goings on in the capital. Sex party, animal rights party, anti greens to name a few and there were more than 70, I’d rather have than not I suppose though.
The word on the street is that the Lib/National coalition are gonna hammer the the other main party here and I can’t say I’ll be surprised if they do but I can’t half wish that the ALP gets another swing in order to really have to deal with what they’ve conjured up for themselves. It wouldn’t be pretty, methinks but the lesson is we get what we allow. Am I being vindictive?
Short answer, yeah, but they have shown themselves to be their own worst enemy. It’s been amazing to watch at the least. My ALP voting mates are currently making the same noises we all heard before the last Qld election. I understand what they’re fearing but I’m really starting to loathe the continual scaremongering they engage in. My Facebook feed is usually Crossfit, firearms and cigars, lately is all been about how we are gonna loose a bunch of stuff(money) if the Libs get in and as a taxpayer I can’t help but hope this will equal a cut in taxes and spending on dumb shit but who knows really. I’m not hopeful as they both like spending up. Strange how the ideas we have in our heads affect how we see things.
The thing for me is I just can’t comprehend why they’ve selected the guy they have to run the show again. After getting rid of him and the individual they replaced him with (yeah, that sideshow) I’ve often wondered if there isn’t anyone better to do the job. Surely there is. Ol Bob was suggesting there will be. We’ll see soon enough I suppose.
Brief thoughts. God I’m a pessimistic bastard. More to follow.
One of the lesser aspects of doing the FIFO thing for a job is it will distract you from focusing on the other parts of life. This is something I become aware of when I hit the WOD part of a workout every time I’m home from work.
It kind of surprises me the facilities a mining company can establish they have, all bar one site have worked at, failed to get onboard with the Crossfit scene.
Some good things to add to the collection.
